Come With Me...

For all of the incredible people that responded to my journal “What Sonic Means to Me…”

This was the first time I have ever used the infamous GIMP. I had never heard of it before dA and (stubborn me) never thought that I would ever use it. Turns out I was going through creative withdrawls and that finally brought me to actually try the program…it’s actually not bad I will be using it until I get Photoshop for this new computer…which may be a while.

I gotta tell you, when I made that journal, I made it for a few reasons.

One was for Sonic’s 21st birthday. With how chaotic my schedule has been lately with school and finals around the corner, I wasn’t sure if I would be able to do anything special for both Sonic’s and Nikki’s (Sonic’s daughter from Sonic’s Legacy) birthdays like I did last year. So, I made that journal to show how grateful I was to have met him and what a major impact the blue blur had made in my life. I still hope I can come up with something for both Sonic and Nikki for their birthday, but it may be late

The second reason is I had noticed that there were others out there that had been through similar trials. (not naming any names for privacy reasons.) And from experience, the worse thing that can happen to someone going through those trials is when they believe they are alone and that no one is there for them…or thinking that no one truly cares about them. Or not wanting to burden those they love with what they are going through (or part of my case, just plain stubborn ) It’s always nice to know that no matter what happens, there will always be someone out there going through the same thing or feels your pain and sorrow and can brighten the darkest of days.

So, that was the biggest reason for creating that journal, to let others know that they were not alone. I made it through those trials, though not completely unscathed, still made it through and life is going considerably well for me at the moment.

The one thing that I never counted on was the incredible feedback that I got from the journal. DA is an amazing community, full of amazing people and creative minds in more ways than just art and music. You guys are so awesome, you have no idea how much I was motivated and moved by your comments. No matter what happens and no matter what people outside of this wonderful place thinks, you guys are the absolute best, creative, and courageous people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

So this is for all of you. The ones that took the time and the courage to tell me their life stories. The ones that have stuck by me through my trials and my hardships. And the ones that as of right now, feel that they are alone in this storm we call life. Know that you are never alone, there is something, or someone there, reaching out for you.

Which brings me to a question to ask you…

If Sonic asked you to go with him on an adventure…would you take his hand?
